and in dreams we will meet again;

In Dreams
(sung by Edward Ross)

When the cold of winter comes
Starless night will cover day
In the veiling of the sun
We will walk in bitter rain

But in dreams
I can hear your name
And in dreams
We will meet again

When the seas and mountains fall
And we come, to end of days
In the dark I hear a call
Calling me there,
I will go there
And back again

It always brings tears to my eyes. A reason not to skip credits. (: And also Ben del Maestro on Forth Eorlingas and Minas Tirith:

(I couldn't find the Minas Tirith track on radio.blog.club.)

guard of the citadel.

Pippin: "I didn’t think they would find any livery that would fit me."
Faramir: "Once belonged to a young boy of the city. A very foolish one who wasted many hours slaying dragons instead of attending to his studies."
Pippin: "This was yours?"
Faramir: "Yes, it was mine. My father had it made for me."
Pippin: "Well, I’m taller than you were then. Though I’m not likely to grow anymore, except sideways."
Faramir: "Never fitted me either. Boromir was always the soldier. They were so alike, he and my father. Proud. Stubborn even. But strong."
Pippin: "I think you have strength of a different kind. And one day your father will see it."

there and back again 2;

Use Well The Days - Annie Lennox
-From The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King Limited Edition OST bonus DVD.

Round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate
And though I have passed them by
A day will come

I will take the hidden path that run
West of the moon and east of the sun
I'm glad that you are here with me
Here at the end of all things.

Night too shall be beautiful
And blessed and then its fear will pass
I must leave, must cross the sea
The love you gave is all i take with me

Use well the days
Use well the days
Turn your face to the green world
Use well the days

Seven stars and seven stones
And one White Tree from all the southern seas

Use well the days
Use well the days
Turn your face to the green world
Use well the days

Everytime I hear this song I want to tear. It's a bittersweet feeling. Because of the Minas Tirith 'photoshoot' (refer to previous post, There and Back Again) I decided to rewatch The Return of the King. I haven't gotten to the second disc yet, but everytime I watch this film, I am afraid of reaching the end. Because I know I will tear. It's very bittersweet.

I remember when I first caught FotR, I didn't exactly like the Caves of Moria scene, but after some time, when I rewatched, I realised that that was one of my favourite scenes, even if my favourite character does fall off the bridge. And the Ballad of Bilbo is simply fantastic and heart-pounding.

Then there is the song Merry and Pippin sang in the Green Dragon. ("Rain may fall and wind may blow But there still be many miles to go! Sweet is the sound of the pouring rain...") Absolutely love Pippin's last line, "There's a mug of beer inside this Took!" Merry and Pippin goodness. (: When Pippin leaves for Minas Tirith, Merry went, "He used to get into a lot of trouble, and I was always there to get him out of it. But now he's going away, just like Frodo and Sam!" Aragorn, "One thing I have learnt about hobbits - they are hardy." Merry, "FOOLhardy you mean - He's a Took!" Still more Merry and Pippin goodness. (: And I'd remember the behind-the-scenes where Billy Boyd and Dominic Monaghan were trying to see who end up with the better outfit (a.k.a. the Gondor one which Pippin got in the end!)

And not to forget the moments of playing the soundtrack and closing my eyes and letting the scenes run in my head.

All the fun in collecting all the beautiful collectibles. But I've stopped quite some time ago. After all... I'm not as filthy rich as Macheath. Nor do I own Pemberley like Mr Darcy. And I would never even reach the society of Anne Elliot.

Not forgetting always hearing Legolas speak redundant lines in the movie ! (Can't remember one off the top of my head now.) Most of his good, impressive, informative, wise, and powerful lines have been cut off and put in the Extended Edition instead. x)

And now I have a friend who calls himself Strider but I absolutely cannot imagine him to be Strider. Bleah. And he never fails to remind me of my height. Hobbits are cute anyway :P It was amusing to hear his mates call him "Strider!" at CCA orientation though. Very amusing. xD

The times when I love my home sound+video system to bits, are when I watch this trilogy. I wish it never ended, but things do have to end some day. It was a beautiful end anyway. (:

there and back again.

To wake up on a morning
Just like night,
The thunder roars overhead.
War cries are endless-
Metal sounds all too familiar
And you're not supposed to be a part of it
That makes it all the more horrific.

Do you believe this? I went to this beautiful place in Middle-Earth and came back. Now you know why I haven't been studying. In case you want to know, the whole trip was free.

...okay only joking. I couldn't help but laugh at the fact that I was going to say the above. x) How childish I sound! But yes, that photo IS taken by yours truly. It's a miniature of Minas Tirith, that beautiful city in Gondor. I didn't get to see Strider there, you know. Instead he sent me an sms calling me a hobbit (as always). xD

There's a compartment beneath the miniature. What do I put in it? Stay tuned to find out. :P

For some reason I am darn lame today.
